By Local reporter Tuesday at 3:09 p.m.
Naperville police are searching for clues into a residential burglary and theft of two dogs earlier this month.
Police said in a release Tuesday that an 8-month old bulldog named “Max” and a 2-year-old-Shih Tzu named “Magwai” were taken from an apartment in the 2800 block of Loveland Street between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. April 4.
Police said the pets were taken along with their steel cages, located in the back bedroom of the residence. Police described Max as brown with white marks on his nose, chest and paws, wearing a black collar inside a black cage with a pink blanket inside. Magwai has long white hair, brown ears and brown spots throughout, wearing a red Disney collar in a black steel cage with a blue and black dolphin pillow inside.
Neither animal has a microchip, police said.
Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be called in anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006.
