Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long is a session?
Sessions generally last 1-2 hours depending upon the type of training
you desire. We address general obedience training and behavior
modification.
2. Do you only use positive reinforcement training?
There is no such thing. If you tell a dog "No", you have used negative
correction. Flow Training allows the dog to teach themselves with our
coaching. We offer the dog choices and dogs will always seek the rewarding
outcome. Just like you cannot have "up" without "down", you can't have
positive without negative. Purely "positive training" is a marketing gimmick,
mainly used to sell expensive dog training books and videos.
3. Do you guarantee results?
No. A dog trainer cannot train your dog to obey YOU. A good trainer can
show your dog what is expected and motivate you to follow through. If you do
not follow the trainer's advice, your dog will not become trained.
4. Do you teach obedience classes?
We only conduct private in home training. Our goal and our good reputation
is all about getting fast, long lasting results for our clients. There is no better
or more economical way to obtain a dog that will be a life long joy for their
owner.
5. Do you charge extra for training two dogs in the same house?
No. I charge a flat fee per session. However, I do not train children, cats,
husbands, wives or in-laws. Please don't ask.
6. How do I get started?
Call me and tell me about your dog. I'll listen and help.
7. Are you really able to talk to dogs?
Woof, Woof!
